We have introduced some major changes to the way you can search and interact with publications as part of VarSome 10.0

We have added:

  • Variants are now automatically identified in publications
  • Ability to “up vote” publications
  •  View user details on who added comments
  •  Improved the speed of pagination and loading

Each contribution you make related to a publication is appreciated and valuable to our growing  VarSome community.

We have updated our step by step guide to linking publications to a variant to reflect these new changes. You can still find the guide here.

Variant Tagging

VarSome’s AI tagger now automatically detects variants in publication title & abstracts, these publications will now be automatically displayed in VarSome.

Variant Tags can be searched:

And highlighted in the publications section:

This is a significant milestone as we continue our program to automatically data-mine all publicly available publication data.

Likes on Publications

You can confirm you agree with a publication or find it particularly helpful by clicking on the “Up Vote” symbol.

To find out more about who has added a comment about a publication we show the user and company name (and company URL) of the comment author. You can visit the user profile or click on the company name to navigate to the company website.

A star is shown against the user name if they have noted that they are the publication author or co-author.

There is an additional tooltip that shows who has linked the classification:
